In Acts 6:3 the Jerusalem church chose "seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom..."
I want to focus here on the Holy Spirit portion of this passage. The Holy Spirit is the driving force behind every Christian. The Holy Spirit is our Helper, sent by Jesus. He guides us in all that we do.
'...every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit." Matt. 7:17-18
Can you think of a time when you tried to do a "good work," without relying upon the Holy Spirit. What were the long-range results for you and the ones you served? _________________
